This enchanting estate, once home to noble families and Renaissance luminaries, offers discerning travelers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse themselves in luxury, history, and the serene beauty of Tuscany.

A Legacy of Nobility and Art

Dating back to 1100, Castello di Cafaggio has been a sanctuary for aristocracy and creativity. The Benci and, its most notable residents, left an indelible mark on the castle’s legacy. Among their ancestors were Ginevra de’ Benci, immortalized by Leonardo da Vinci, and the renowned Renaissance artist Antonio Benci del Pollaiolo. Every corner of the castle whispers tales of opulence, artistry, and timeless elegance.

A Haven for the Discerning Traveler

For those seeking an exclusive retreat, Castello di Cafaggio offers a rare blend of history and modern luxury. Wander through its expansive woodlands, once the hunting grounds of Giacomo Puccini, the legendary Italian composer and close friend of Baron Ugo Benci. The estate’s self-sufficient hamlet, complete with a historic olive oil mill, winery, and artisanal workshops, reflects a bygone era of craftsmanship and sustainability.

Indulge in Tuscan Traditions

The castle’s rich agricultural heritage is still alive today. Explore the ancient olive oil  mill, and discover the secrets of Impruneta’s world-renowned olive oil production. Savor award-winning wines, first cultivated by Enrico Benci in the mid-1800s and celebrated at the prestigious Esposizione Italiana di SAR Eugenio di Savoia.

Preserving Music and History at Castello di Cafaggio

Valentina_Piccioni

Valentina Benci Piccioni, current owner of Castello di Cafaggio, preserves the legacy of her two families. Her father, Piero Piccioni, was a renowned composer of over 300 film scores, while her stepfather, Enrico Benci, was a close family friend. The castle’s library holds historic books, a letter from Giacomo Puccini to her great-grandfather, and Piero Piccioni’s original manuscripts—now digitized.

A musicologist and singer, Valentina organizes concerts and conferences at the castle, celebrating her father’s work in this enchanting setting. A blend of history, music, and art.
